"Gone Flying" was a sign that I used to hang on my door. The sign is long-gone and my pilot's license has lapsed. So imagine my surprise when an old school chum tracked me down through my website and invited me to go flying with him. Ken Holmberg credits me with sparking his life-long interest in aviation when, shortly after getting my pilot's license while in high school, I took him for a ride in a small Cessna.
Now he has returned the favour. On a warm May day, we took-off from the Boundary Bay airport, crossed Vancouver, and flew along the North Shore before making a right turn toward Squamish. I made this aerial image just south of Whistler. It was a perfect "Gone Flying" day.
